On the recently tended trails you quietly glide through the snow-covered landscape of Glemmtal. Whether it is ice-skating or classic cross-country skiing, you will come across everything here for a perfect cross-country skiing holiday in Saalbach. At the head of the valley in Hinterglemm is a 10 km long, slightly sloping cross-country trail, which proceeds from the tennis hall to Lindlingalm. This trail is not only suitable for pleasure-oriented skiers and endurance skiers, it provides ideal conditions for beginners too.
The altitude skating trail on the Reiterkogel, is snow-assured and definitely a highlight for cross-country skiers. The Reiterkogelbahn takes you to this 2 kilometre altitude trail which provides impressive panoramic views. Take the Reiterkogelbahn to the intermediate station and follow the signposted skating track. The route proceeds to the Roswaldhütte and back again.
To all cross-country skiers – if the trail network in Saalbach Hinterglemm is not enough, or if you just want to head out on an excursion away from Glemmtal and try out the large, extensive trail network of country trails spanning 200 km, then start out in the neighbouring town of Maishofen, 15 km away. Combine these trails the way you want to and enjoy the trail network in Pinzgau and Saalachtal. Numerous cosy refreshment stop options along the route provide culinary highlights and local speciality dishes. Ideal for getting to know your ski area while out cross-country skiing.
